Amazon S3 client for Mac

Use Blob0 on Mac to browse, preview, upload, download, and share objects in an existing Amazon S3 bucket. Match the bucket region and endpoint, and grant only the object actions your workflow needs.

Treat an existing Amazon S3 bucket as a file workspace: review a release asset before downloading, upload a revised delivery, or prepare a temporary object link. Blob0 connects with an AWS Region and key pair; it does not create buckets or manage your AWS account.

Connect an existing Amazon S3 bucket

Use the bucket’s AWS Region to select the regional S3 endpoint in Blob0. For example, a bucket in us-west-2 can use https://s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com; enter the bucket name separately.

Region-specific endpoint

Set the Region to the bucket’s actual AWS Region and use its HTTPS S3 endpoint. This example uses us-west-2 and s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com; other regions have different endpoint names.

Existing bucket and key pair

Enter an existing bucket plus an Access Key ID and Secret Access Key. Blob0 stores the key pair in macOS Keychain; this connection form does not accept STS session tokens or AWS SSO sign-in.

Grant only needed S3 actions

Listing needs s3:ListBucket; reading, uploading, and deleting objects need s3:GetObject, s3:PutObject, and s3:DeleteObject as applicable. Scope access to the intended bucket and object paths.

Check encryption permissions

If objects use SSE-KMS, the relevant AWS KMS key permissions may also be needed. Bucket policies and organization controls can further restrict a request.

Blob0 manages objects in the connected bucket. It is not an AWS IAM or account console, and it cannot change bucket policies or KMS key permissions for you.

Use an S3 bucket as a Mac file workspace

Start from the bucket you already use for a release, customer export, or delivery package. Blob0 provides object-file workflows inside that connection; AWS still controls access and encryption policy.

Review a release asset

Filter the current bucket, preview a supported object, and download the selected release file to your Mac before sharing it with a teammate.

Publish a revised delivery

Upload a revised export and follow transfer progress, then rename or move the object within the connected bucket if its key needs organizing.

Prepare a temporary download

Open the object’s Share… action and choose Presigned to create a time-limited link for a partner. The recipient still needs a valid link and the AWS request must remain authorized.

Share an Amazon S3 object for a limited time

Use a file action menu and choose Share… → Presigned, then select 15 minutes, 1 hour, 24 hours, or 7 days. Anyone with the link can request that object until it expires, while the signing credentials and S3 permissions remain valid.

Know the Amazon S3 client boundaries

  • Connect a bucket that already exists. Blob0 does not create AWS resources or manage IAM, account settings, or billing; use AWS tools for those tasks.
  • The connection form requires an Access Key ID and Secret Access Key. It does not provide SSO or STS session-token sign-in.
  • Blob0 works with objects in the connected bucket. It does not mount a bucket in Finder or migrate objects across buckets; use AWS tools for those tasks.
